# Connecting & Disconnecting Parts

This guide explains how to connect and disconnect parts in MachineBuilder.

  

## **Connecting Newly Inserted Parts**

  

To connect a newly inserted component, hover over the desired attachment location. Use the arrow keys (either on-screen or on your keyboard) to cycle through the available orientations, then left-click to confirm the connection.

  

## **Connecting Existing Components**

  

To connect existing components, hold down the left mouse button near the desired connection point on the first component or group of components.

  

Drag the selected component(s) to the secondary connection point, release the left click and use the arrow keys to adjust the orientation. Click elsewhere to confirm the placement.

  

## **Disconnecting Parts**

  

To disconnect parts, select the components you wish to disconnect, then right-click and choose either “Detach Part” for a single component or “Detach from Assembly” for multiple components.
