# Design Assistant

Learn how to use MachineBuilder’s Design Assistant to enhance your design efficiency by automating the placement of frame connectors at connection points between two extrusions.

## **Turning On the Design Assistant**

The Design Assistant is enabled by default, but you can toggle it on or off through the settings.

To enable or disable the Design Assistant:

1. Open **Settings** from the menu.
2. Toggle **Design Assistant** under the **Smart Design** section.

## **Using the Design Assistant**

1. When you bring your cursor near a connection point between extrusions, a sphere will appear, indicating the Design Assistant's activation.
2. Hover over the sphere to preview a proposed frame connector at the joint.
3. Left-click to activate the Design Assistant and open the selection options.
4. Choose your preferred frame connector from the proposed options.
5. Confirm your selection by clicking elsewhere in the design space.
