# How to create a new design in a Project

Start a new design from scratch in 3D MachineBuilder.

## Prerequisites

- Project editing permissions

## Steps

### Step 1: Go to Items Tab

Click "Items" in the sidebar.

### Step 2: Open New Design Dialog

Click "New" → "New design" in the Designs section.

### Step 3: Fill Form

Enter required information:

- **Name:** Design name (e.g., "Conveyor System Module")
- **Quantity:** Number of units needed
- **Application category:** Select from dropdown
- **Description:** Optional details

### Step 4: Create Design

Click "Create design". A new tab opens with 3D MachineBuilder.
