# Insert Components (Designs)

**What Does It Mean to Insert a Component?**

The *Insert Component* feature in MachineBuilder allows you to add an existing design to your current project seamlessly.

## **Opening the Insert Component Menu**

In MachineBuilder, select **Insert Component** from the dropdown menu in the navigation bar.

This will open the insert component window.

## **Selecting a Design to Insert**

Use the dropdown menu to choose where you want to search for a design:

- **My Designs:** Your personal creations
- **Team Designs:** Designs created by your team
- **Collaborations:** Projects shared with you
- **Public Designs:** Designs available to the public

## **Finding Your Design:**

- **Search by Name or Number:** Type the design's name or number into the search field.
- **Use Filters:** Apply filters to refine your search if you’re unsure of the exact name or number.

## **Inserting the Design**

Select the design by either:

- Double-clicking it
- Clicking the design once and selecting **Insert**

The design will snap to your cursor and move with it in MachineBuilder.

Left-click in the design space to place the assembly in the desired location.
